Mötley Crüe

I choose Mötley Crüe to talk, because is one of the most quality hard rock bands and myself as a hard rock fan I was obliged to post something about them. I love to put one CD where is there a very famous song of Mötley Crüe, “Kickstart My Heart”, I put on the maximum volume and it’s done a party on my own house. I jump, shout with their songs. My neighbor doesn’t like so much idea like I do, but what can they do? Come on, it is Mötley Crüe! Lets rock!

Now I will introduce Mötley Crüe:

Band Members:
- Nikki Sixx
- Mick Mars
- Vince Neil
- Tommy Lee

They are a hard rock band formed in 1981 founded by Nikki Sixx (bass guitarist) and the drummer Tommy Lee (He was married to actresses Heather Locklear and Pamela Anderson, with whom he has two children.).
This band is well famous for living lifestyles of their members that aren’t regular for us. It is amazing the fact that all the members have had numerous brushes with the law, spent time in jail, many problems with alcohol and drugs, had countless escapades with women, and are heavily tattooed.

Did you remember when I spoke of “Kickstart My Heart”?
On December 21, 1987, Sixx suffered a heroin overdose. He was declared legally dead on the way to the hospital, but the medic, who was a Crüe fan, revived Sixx by giving him two shots of adrenaline to the heart, bringing him back to life. His two minutes in death were the inspiration for the song "Kickstart My Heart", that was a hit and which was featured on their album Dr. Feelgood. From 1986 to 1987, Sixx kept a daily diary of his heroin addiction and eventually entered rehab in January, 1988.

Dr.Feelgood sucess.
After drugs problems, in 1989, Mötley Crüe reached its peak popularity with the release of their fifth album, Dr. Feelgood, on September 1. On October 14 of that year, it became a No. 1 album and stayed on the charts for “only” 109 weeks after its release. The band members told to media this album relate the process of their collective push for sobriety. The song Dr. Feelgood and Kickstart My Heart were both nominated for Grammys in the Best Hard Rock Category. They did find some success at the American Music Awards, as Dr. Feelgood was nominated twice for Favorite Hard Rock/Metal Award. They were also nominated twice for Favorite Hard Rock/Metal Artist.

Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd is one of that rock bands doesn't need presentation, don't you agree?

Along the times they mesmerize generations with their musical characteristics and lyrics. People with 50s and 60 years old like Pink Floyd because are a band of their generation, but their son or grandsons can like too. Pink will not be forget along the times. Songs like “I wish you were here”, “Learning to fly” or “Another Brick on the Wall” can shows feelings that are present on our days. The music can change, but people no, aren’t?

Well I don’t want to disturb you with this needless talk, so I will make a short presentation of Pink Floyd:

They are a English rock band famous, on early years, for their psychedelic rock, and on later years for their progressive rock music. Above I brought up characteristics and lyrics of Pink Floyd. But I hadn’t told you nothing about that. So pay attention:
Pink Floyd are well known for philosophical lyrics, innovative album cover art, sonic experimentation, and elaborate live shows. Along the times they have sold over 200 million albums worldwide (74.5 million in the USA). Pink Floyd were a band that was a influence for many contemporary bands like Nine Inch Nails(favorite of mine) and Dream Theater.
Band Members:
• Syd Barrett – lead guitar, lead vocals (1964–1968)
• Nick Mason – drums, percussion (1964–1996)
• Richard Wright – keyboards, vocals (1964–1981; 1987–1996)
• Roger Waters – bass guitar, vocals (1964–1985)
• David Gilmour – lead guitar, vocals (1968–1996)

On my opinion the best era was undoubtedly Roger Waters’s era. With him they were extraordinarily successful. The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) e The Wall (1979) were albums with worldwide success, that were analysed for specialized critics, whose were very well qualified. Pink Floyd albums spotlight on a variety of Tops.

Jimi Hendrix

The following post is the best guitarist ever. Are you know what am I talking about isn’t? Hum…Ah! Jimi Hendrix! I am not Hendrix fan, but obviously I have to recognize his talent as guitarist and singer too. So for everybody likes him accept this gift for you.

James Marshall Hendrix, born November 27, 1942 was one of the most famous American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is widely considered to be the greatest guitarist in the history of rock and one of the most important and influential musicians of his era across a range of genres. In 1966, Hendrix, who played and recorded with Little Richard's band from 1964 to 1965, he said, "I want to do with my guitar what Little Richard does with his voice."
Hendrix won a lot awards in this lifetime, but is curious that he won much more after his death including:
- US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – 1992
- UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005
And others awards were dedicated to him. For example, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was dedicated in 1994 and Rolling Stone named Hendrix the top guitarist on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003.
Death
It is said that Hendrix, had taken nine of her prescribed Vesperax sleeping pills. The normal medical dose was half a tablet, but Hendrix was unfamiliar with this very strong German brand. According to the doctors, Hendrix had asphyxiated in his own vomit, mainly red wine which had filled his airways and even swamped his lungs, as the autopsy was to show.

Kiss (KISS)

I decide post something about hard rock band KISS. Eventually, as a rock and roll fan, I am a fan of them. We have to be honest and congratulate them for their work along all this time. Why choose I the KISS? Today I was listening music’s CD that I had bought yesterday and I paid a special attention for one specific song: “I was made for lovin’ you”. I guess I had never heard that song. I put the music very, very loud (max vol) and dance as I was in Disco( but I wasn’t… my living room is cool but not so much). I can say that I really enjoy it!!

Current members
Paul Stanley – rhythm guitar, lead vocals (1972–present)
Gene Simmons – bass guitar, lead vocals (1972–present)
Tommy Thayer – lead guitar, vocals (2002–present)
Eric Singer – drums, percussion, vocals (1991–1996, 2001–2002, 2004–present)

Kiss (also typeset as KISS) was formed in 1972 in New York City and is one of the most famous rock band. They are easily identified by its members’ makeup and stage outfits. This group gained reputation due to elaborated live performances, where was usual they featured with fire breathing, blood spitting, smoking guitars and pyrotechnics. Kiss has been awarded 24 gold albums to date and their worldwide sales exceed 80 million albums.
With their makeup and costumes, they took on the personae of comic book-style characters: The Demon (Gene Simmons), Starchild (Peter Stanley), Spaceman (Ace Frehley), and Catman (Peter Criss). The band explains that the fans were the ones who ultimately chose their makeup designs. The "Demon" makeup reflected Simmons' cynicism and dark elements, as well as his love for comic books. Paul Stanley became the "Starchild" due to his tendency to be referred to as the "starry-eyed lover" and "hopeless romantic." Ace Frehley's "Spaceman" makeup was a reflection of him wanting to go for a ride in a space ship and supposedly being from another planet. Peter Criss' "Catman" makeup was in accordance with the belief that Criss had nine lives due to his rough childhood in Brooklyn.

Black Sabbath (Ozzy Osbourne)

First of all, I have to admit that Black Sabbath are a band that a have a lot of estimation because they are one of the best metal bands in world and they waken me to metal. I remember listening their songs at two years ago and being delirious with them. I liked so much that I consider them my favorite band ever. At the moment I recommend them at everybody who likes heavy metal. They are amazing man!!

Black Sabbath are the first band of heavy metal. They were formed in 1969 by vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward.

Actual members:
- Ozzy Osbourne
- Tony Iommi
- Geezer Butler
- Bill Ward
Why they choose the name "Black Sabbath"?
It is said that was due to Butler the origin of this name. He saw a crowd paying to be scared to see a horror film called “Black Sabbath” (1963) of Boris Karloff. So he thought to do the same, but with music. He wrote a lyric called “Black Sabbath” that was inspired by the work of occult writer Dennis Wheatley. Furthermore the dark style of that lyric he gave a ominous sound to music so with those dark lyrics pushed the band in a darker direction, contrasting the 1960s pop music which hippies culture dominated. Inspired by the new sound, the band changed their name to Black Sabbath (the name before was “Earth”) in August 1969 and focus on writing dark lyrics only and creating the music that we are used to listen in horror films.
MTV ranked Black Sabbath as "Greatest Metal Band" of all time.
They had altered vocalist many times the vocalist(whose isn’t usual). Ozzy Osbourne lead vocals (1968–1977, 1978–1979, 1985, 1994, 1997–present) , but was replaced sometimes for example in 1979 Ronnie James Dio. Black Sabbath would also see a revolving lineup in the 1980s and 1990s that included vocalists Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, Ray Gillen and Tony Martin.
PARANOID – the best album
Is considered the best Black Sabbath album. In my opinion this is one of the best heavy metal albums that I have listened. My favorite songs are "Iron Man", “"Electric Funeral”, “War Pigs” and "Paranoid". I love these songs! If you really like metal, you will love Black Sabbath!
