James Marshall Hendrix, born November 27, 1942 was one of the most famous American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is widely considered to be the greatest guitarist in the history of rock and one of the most important and influential musicians of his era across a range of genres. In 1966, Hendrix, who played and recorded with Little Richard's band from 1964 to 1965, he said, "I want to do with my guitar what Little Richard does with his voice."
Hendrix won a lot awards in this lifetime, but is curious that he won much more after his death including:
- US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – 1992
- UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005
- UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005
And others awards were dedicated to him. For example, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was dedicated in 1994 and Rolling Stone named Hendrix the top guitarist on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003.
Death
It is said that Hendrix, had taken nine of her prescribed Vesperax sleeping pills. The normal medical dose was half a tablet, but Hendrix was unfamiliar with this very strong German brand. According to the doctors, Hendrix had asphyxiated in his own vomit, mainly red wine which had filled his airways and even swamped his lungs, as the autopsy was to show.
